Dear Sir or Madam,

We are pleased to learn of your interest in the International Association. The Association has two main goals:

First, to organize the international exchange of information among institutes and individuals that are dedicated to the advancement of logotherapy.

Second, to establish a virtual journal of logotherapy, published in as many languages as possible. This will permit knowledge to be shared worldwide on the theory and practice of logotherapy.

And of course we have many other objectives. You can find out on the following pages. Perhaps you might also like to support the project by translating one article each year into your native language. Our experiment can only succeed with your help.

Logotherapy

Logotherapy – not to be confused with logopedics – is meaning oriented psychotherapy. Prof. Dr. Viktor Frankl's initial core concern was to perceive human existence as essentially value and meaning oriented. His new perspective developed out of Frankl's practical commitment as an internationally renowned psychiatrist and neurologist. If an individual's will to meaning is substantially frustrated, he will lose his ease of living and his clarity of experience. The corollary will be inadequate behaviour and neurotic disturbance: disinclination to work, depression, weariness with life, addicitions, apathy, boredom, nihilistic beliefs, noogenic-neurotic disturbances of various kinds.
